Make it a bonus activity by going around the kitchen and letting the kids mix different things up to go inside of them! It will be like they’re really mixing potions! My kitchen finally has a potions set and it only cost me about $25 for the bottles! Here are a few of my favorite! There are 12 labels in total for you to choose from! I filled them with whatever I had laying around the house.

Don’t worry if you get a little modge podge on the bottle around the label – it dries clear! After letting it sit for about 10 minutes I put a thin layer of modge podge over the front of the label to make it more durable. If a bubble formed I just gently pressed it out with my fingers. Continue to hold the label down for a few minutes and kept checking to make sure that the label had not bubbled up. I then used an even layer of modge podge on the back of the label and pushed it onto the front of the bottle. Next distress the edges of the labels using distress ink.

HOW TO APPLY PRINTED LABELS TO GLASS JARS?Īfter the bottles were ready, I printed my labels on cardstock and cut them out using scissors.

If you want to learn how I distressed the glass, check out my post with this tutorial for aging glass jars! I give you 3 different techniques that are super simple! I also really like these bottles off Amazon:Ī major part of making your Harry Potter Potion Bottles look cool is making sure you distress the glass to get the old and spooky look. Really any cool shaped glass bottles work! Then you can order a cork set, that comes with a variety of sizes, off Amazon for pretty affordable. I got my bottles at Hobby Lobby and they were 50% off! However, you can easily find these bottles at thrift stores and in your pantry.
